Today, Clara and Emma went to school and enjoyed stamping pictures of leaves on paper. Emma enjoyed talking on all the different cell phones and trying on the sunglasses. Clara enjoyed taking Mommy's hand and leading her around the room and playing in the kitchen. Both Clara and Emma sat like little ladies during snack and enjoyed their cheerios and a story. After lunch, Mommy tried a new tv show to keep them occupied for a few minutes before heading out for a drive. The show- Jack's Big Music Show, was a big hit. Both Emma and Clara had big smiles on their faces. Mommy took the ladies for a drive and a shopping trip to Trader Joe's. Int he afternoon, Heather and Allie, who live across the street, came by to play.
Clara continues to say "Da" and move her head up and down when she wants to say yes. It is like she wants to share some of her Russian blood with everyone. She also continues to go towards things like the tv and the light in the family room and try to play with it- knowing full well she should not- as she turns her head and smiles at Mommy or Daddy and does it anyhow. She says "Duh" for duck. Mommy and Daddy think she knows what it is because Emma says duck so often. Clara continues to play independently well and likes to read books. She also seems to think standing on her ride-on is appropriate and likes to drink her juice, talk on the phone and sit on her ride-on at the same time. Mommy and Daddy have insisted that this behavior end before she gets behind the wheel of a real car! Clara has started to push Emma is Emma gets on her toy or wants to share and gets angry if Emma takes something she is trying to protect.
Emma has several new words. She learned the word "hat," and likes wearing Mommy's wool hat, Daddy's baseball cap and of course, her pink hat. When Mommy puts the hat on, she says "hat, hat." Emma is also saying "wind" and "pull" - parts of the song "Wind, Wind the Bobbin." She has put some words together like "no more" and "not nice." Daddy worked on teaching Clara and Emma some colors yesterday and Emma repeated them, especially red and white. She also is able to open a book and find the duck in "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," and since she took the duck out of the farm book, she goes to find it and put it back if Mommy is reading it. Emma is attached to her blankie and calls is "beah." Mommy and Daddy got duplicates of the taggie blankets for Clara and Emma. Emma is much calmer when she has her blankie and it does seem to soothe her.
Teething also is continuing to be a theme in the Gornstein house. Clara's "I" teeth are pushing through still and her gums are all red. Emma's getting the rest of her one year molars.
Mommy is feeling the pains (and always the joys) of beign a twin mom. Loading the ladies in the car has become increasingly more difficult. Getting the hats, jackets and shoes on and getting those things to stay on is very difficult.
