Clara and Emma Take the Train to NYC

Another first for Clara and Emma as they headed to NYC on Metro North today. Emma had an opthamologist appointment for what was suspected (and confirmed) to be a blocked tear duct. The doctor also has an office in Scarsdale but didn't have office hours there until early December. Mommy was able to get this appointment when she called yesterday, but had to go to the NYC office. Because the office was only a few blocks from Grand Central and Daddy had a meeting in Long Island, Mommy decided to take the train.

Clara and Emma were woken up early by Daddy and changed for their big day. Daddy had to leave early too, so Mommy gave the ladies a quick breakfast. Clara woke up with a stuffy nose, so she wasn't too happy and didn't eat much. Mommy loaded the ladies in their stroller around 7:30 and headed to the train. It was a short but cold walk, but Clara and Emma were nice and toasty in their bundles me's and with the wind cover on. Mommy found a nice spot to park the stroller on the train. Clara and Emma were great on the train and enjoyed their cheerios and some juice. Auntie Alyssa met everyone right outside the platform. It was wonderful to have her help.

There was a long wait at the doctor's office and he requested to see both Clara and Emma because they are twins and early and he thought it was a good idea. Emma does have a blocked tear duct and needs a small procedure which, because she is small enough, can be done in the Scarsdale office in a few weeks. After the doctor, Mommy and Auntie Alyssa went to Lord and Taylor while Clara and Emma slept and then went to Grand Central to Junior's for lunch. At lunch, Clara and Emma both decided to eat their grilled cheese with a fork. Clara and Emma enjoyed all of the people watching and shopped some more at the holiday fair. Mommy did a quick diaper change and Clara took a walking tour with Auntie Alyssa. Mommy loaded the ladies back in the stroller and got on the train. It was a rough ride back for Clara and Emma because they were so tired, but they fell asleep the minute Mommy got them off the train and pushed them up the hill.

Mommy is excited to know that she can at least make it to 42nd Street with Clara and Emma in tow.

In the afternoon, after their nap, Clara and Emma played and showed Mommy that they like to climb on the activity table and then acted like they didn't do anything wrong! Oy!
