New Cups and First Words and Walking

Yesterday, Mommy decided to try the take and toss straw cups, in hopes that it wouldn't spill. Clara and Emma both drank from them without a problem and then didn't spill, at least on the first go around.

Mommy spent the day in the city. After a visit to the dr. that delivered Clara and Emma, Mommy had lunch at Sarabeth's with Nadia. After a bit of shopping, Mommy went to the old apartment building to see Stacey and Alex. At 5, Mommy headed downstairs for the 5 pm playdate with friends Stacey and twins Claire and James and Elissa and her sone William. On the way to dinner, Mommy bumped into Jill and her twins Caroline and Anabel- which was a sweet suprise. Then, Mommy saw David Levenson! What a day. Finally, Mommy went to dinner with Stephanie and Michele- fellow twin moms!

Daddy came home early to help Cheri so Mommy could have such a fun day.

Today, Mommy took Clara and Emma on a walk along the OCA. Clara and Emma were mostly in good moods throughout the day, but tired too. They took a nap from 9-10:20 and were yawning at 12, but Mommy pushed them to 1230 and they slept until 2. Clara and Emma played a long game of peek a boo with the blanket. Mommy thinks it is cute when they go and get the blanket and put themselves under it waiting for Mommy to say "Where oh where is..." and then sometimes pick the blanket up to show themselves. The grins they have when the blanket comes out are priceless. Mommy is getting a kick out of watching both Clara and Emma over the past week because they are starting to look much more like little girls- Mommy sees it mostly when they smile.

Mommy still wonders what to do about the early naps, but knows she still can't complain when they are so good about sleeping through the night.

Daddy came home early today and the Gornstein gang took a quick trip to CVS. Clara and Emma had a little time to play before dinner. Clara was standing so Mommy and Daddy said to walk towards Daddy and she took several steps. Daddy picked her up and turned her around and said to walk to Mommy, and she did it again. She went back and forth about 5 times. Clara is walking, even though it is in little spurts. Mommy expects by next week, she will be a full fledged walker- watch out world! And, of course, Emma won't be far behind. Of course, Daddy made Clara and Emma laugh so much that Clara got hiccups- as she always does when she giggles.

For a few days, Mommy has been wondering if Emma is trying to talk. Emma says "Mo" and bangs the table when she wants more food (at least Mommy thinks that is it). But in the last few days, when you say "bye bye," Emma not only waves her hand but says "buh."
