Lots of people try and tell you what it is like with twins or even one baby, but the truth is, you don't know until they arrive.
The most popular question of the year- "How do you do it?" To which Mommy always has the same answer- "you just do - it is all we know."
A big part of "making it through" this year was the support of family and friends. Mommy and Daddy are grateful for having such wonderful people to lend a hand or share a laugh. Mommy is also grateful to have made new friends in the apartment building that made getting through the winter bearable. And, of course, all of Mommy's twin mama friends that were met on the street or through people- there is a special bond.
A year ago, on a hot August afternoon, Clara Julia and Emma Lily arrived small, but full of spunk into the world. Both Mommy and Daddy have a hard time remembering how small they were. Despite their size, they came home two days after they arrived with Mommy and Daddy. For sure, it was one of the scariest 5 minute car trips. Both Clara and Emma were so tiny that they really didn't fit in their seats. And then, once they were home, and Grandma and Grandpa Frome went to rest, Clara and Emma both started crying and Mommy and Daddy just looked at each other. It was good thing the baby nurse, Val was on the way.
The first three months are a blur and of course, it was after that period that Mommy was able to start the blog.
Clara is sweet and curious about everything. She must look at objects from all sides. She turns her head to see what is happening and to listen to other people talking.
Emma loves to be held, has a temper, smiles wide and bright and enjoys taking things apart. She will always be the peanut, but her small size has never stopped her. When she sleeps at night, it is hard to remember the days that she was the child that needed the bouncy, swing or stroller to calm her.
Mommy and Daddy love to watch them interact. Clara and Emma seem to entertain one another, whether it be tackling each other ( a new favorite activity), pushing each other off of Mommy (another new activity), reading to each other or taking toys or cups.
It is lots and lots of work, but the rewards are truly multiple.
Thanks for sharing this year.
