The ladies enjoyed school and had indoor play, as it was raining. A photo sent shows them checking out scooters! Here is a note from their teachers.
"Dear Parents,
We had so much fun at school today! We talked about fall and made beautiful leaf pictures with fall colors - see the attached photos and then see them "falling" on our hall wall! Soon you'll get to take them home and hang them up on your own walls.
At circle time we sang about falling leaves. We threw our own make-believe leaves up in the air and watched them fall to the ground. Then we used our pretend rakes (or leaf blowers!) to gather the leaves back up into one big pile to jump in! Each child had a turn - see the adorable photos. The children loved it. We'll use them again as we talk about fall and the leaves that are changing colors all around us.
We sang "Mr. Sun" to try to get the sun to come out. We also added "Where is Thumbkin," One Finger Up One Finger Down," and "Open Shut Them" to our repertoire. (See your GHC songbook for the words.)
During snack we introduced a big book called Cookie's Week which we read using a "Cookie the Cat" puppet and a couple of other props.
Then Cantor Amy came in to sing a few songs with us while we finished our snack. We put our rainy picture up on our weather chart and then went upstairs to play.
Upstairs the twos enjoyed riding bikes, scooters, and cars as well as playing with balls, climbing, and going down slides.
See you on Thursday!
Your Twos' team,
Laurie and Helene "
Mommy gave them peanut butter and jelly for lunch, as requested, and both got hives again on their face...
This afternoon, it was off to Citibabes for Take Back the Afternoon. There was a nice crowd and Clara and Emma enjoyed seeing friends!
Tonite, Emma said "Mommy, I want the poo poo book." Mommy didn't realize that she wanted to read the new book, Noah MacDonald, from PJ Library, which has page about the animals going "poo" on the boat. So, Mommy had to read the page over and over again, and it goes to the tune of "E I E I O."
Mommy told the ladies that they'd be going to yoga in the morning. Clara proceeded to do the downward dog and say "down dog," while Emma held on to her crib rails to do the tree pose.
By the way, Check out how Clara and Emma's 2nd Birthday cake was made at sarabakescakes.blogspot.com. Sara is amazing - if you ever need a cake or cupcakes- call her! It was fab!
