It has been a whole year since the Gornstein gang moved to Westchester. 12 months, 2 moves...priceless.
Really, it has been a pretty smooth transition. Mommy learned to drive again and has even ventured to the Bronx and on other highways to interesting destinations recently. She even knows the shortcuts around town and different ways to get from one place to another if the traffic is bad. Daddy has become a comuter, mastering the time it takes to either walk or drive to the station and make his train.
And, of course, Mommy co-founded a business to serve parents in lower Westchester with kids ages 0-3, The Rivertown Play Group.
Mommy and Daddy try to take advantage of the great things in Westchester, but still make sure to find time to hang with city friends and those in other burbs, like NJ.
A true sign for Mommy of adjusting to the burbs is the fact that going to the store, the gym or driving on the street, chances are high Mommy will see someone she knows. Working hard at creating a community of friends to grow with has been fun and Mommy is very lucky and grateful to have met Rachel, Brianna and Jennifer (and their kids) at her first Musical Munchkins class.
Looking back on the photos from last year's move, Clara and Emma had very little hair and weren't walking. Times really have changed. With curls on their heads and running as their favored mode of transportation, Clara and Emma have blossomed into toddlers. Last year, Clara and Emma were eating baby food and just adjusting to highchairs (since they used Bumbos in the city)- and this year, well, they eat anything and are hoping Mommy and Daddy will transition them out of their highchairs to other chairs.
It has been quite a ride and Mommy, Daddy, Clara and Emma are looking forward to the new adventures to come!
