Clara and Emma at 9 Months

Today, Clara and Emma are 9 months old! It is hard to believe. So, what are Clara and Emma up to at 9 months? Well, quite alot.

Clara is crawling everywhere. She seems to enjoy finding little spaces to crawl into and loves crawling under things, like the exersaucer and the pillows Mommy and Daddy put up to block her in a space. Clara loves standing up and pulls herself up as often as she can. She also enjoys being a bat and always has a huge grin when being held upside down. Even when Daddy says it is enough, she leans back and motions for more! There is quite a bit of teething happening. In addition to the two bottom teeth, Clara's first top tooth has broken through and it looks like she is working on at least 4 more! She seems to enjoy shrieking with excitement and is trying to learn to wave as she looks at her hands and sees what they can do. Clara also seems to love Mommy's shoes and goes to them any chance she can. She seems to enjoy solid food, although still spits out things that are green. Her favorite meal is still soy yogurt with avocado and banana. She also loves cheerios. While it was once thought that Clara was shy, she certainly has proven differently. She smiles frequently and has an adorable giggle. She is quite curious and needs to know what is going on. Clara still falls asleep by soothing herself with her finger and has started to sleep with her tush in the air. Clara also loves to talk and says ma ma and da da.

Emma is also crawling everywhere, although with a little less finesse than Clara. Emma loves to crawl to the kitchen and check out the wine bottles. Emma also enjoys standing and pulling herself up. She smiles broadly when she does so and now claps for herself. Daddy also taught Emma how to shake her head "no," which when done at the appropriate time, is very funny. Emma is also cutting numerous teeth in addition to the two bottom ones, like Clara, in a very twinlike fashion, her first top tooth has started to come through and she is working on several more. Emma seems to eat more solids than Clara and likes everything. Emma loves cheerios and seems to always have a finger or hand in her mouth. Emma survived her first diaper rash this month and was tested for a milk allergy (results pending). Emma loves to talk, except when someone calls on the phone, and also says ma ma and da da.

Over this past month, Clara and Emma took their second road trip to Maryland to see Grandma and Grandpa Frome and were excited to meet their cousin Lucas, and of course, see Uncle Adam, Aunt Christina, and their favorite NYC aunt, Aunt Alyssa. The girls also visited their new house which they move into in just a few days in Dobbs Ferry. Mommy and Daddy think they will enjoy all of the space they have to crawl around. The girls also enjoyed visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein when they returned from Argentina.

The girls said goodbye to nanny Annie, since she couldn't come to Westchester. They also enjoyed seeing lots of Mommy and Daddy's friends, like Dara and Aunt Jen. They of course enjoyed all of their playdates and walks in the park with all of their twin and singleton friends. It has been a busy month.

Stay tuned for updates from their new home, as the little city girls become suburbanites!
