On Saturday afternoon, Clara and Emma drove to Staten Island to visit Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein. Daddy took a new route and drove on the Henry Hudson, which gave everyone a nice tour of Riverdale. The drive took an hour and Clara and Emma slept the whole time! Grandma and Grandpa fed Clara and Emma a snack while Mommy and Daddy ran some errands. In the later afternoon, lots of family started to arrive to celebrate Maurice's 70th birthday. Emma was very tired and wasn't very interactive. Clara, while tired, loved being bounced up and down. Both girls talked to everyone. Clara also started to learn about cars from cousins Matt and Andrew. Mommy and Daddy fed the girls their evening bottle and then headed home at around 7 pm. While everyone wanted them to stay, Mommy and Daddy knew that Clara and Emma needed their rest.
Today, Daddy watched the girls most of the day. While the girls were practicing finger foods with cheerios- which they have both become good at- they saw Daddy eating his waffle. Of course, that meant that they too had to have waffle, and thus, they had waffle and banana for breakfast. Mommy and Daddy think it is funny that they love trying to eat with their hands now, but that much of it still ends up in the highchair! Mommy practiced backing out of the drivewway, which still is very difficult for her. It is on a steep hill and hard to navigate - pluis it is a hidden driveway, so one backs out into oncoming traffic and you have to be very careful. Mommy drove to DeCicco's in Ardsley and did the shopping for the week. It was a very nice store and she got Daddy some yummy rolls. Then, she came home and headed out again to Central Avenue to do some returns at lots of the baby stores. It was a very busy day. It rained in the afternoon, so Clara and Emma were stuck in the house. Clara said "Ma , ma, ma
and "ba, ba, ba" all day. She also loved to yell- sort of grunt to see if you would repeat her. She gets very excited when you do and talks back. Daddy heads out on a business trip for three days in the morning, so Mommy will need to get the girls out of the house!
