This Week in the 3's April 11-April 15
On Monday we had music with Marcy, using blue rhythm sticks as hammers and shovels as the children practiced their Passover songs.
We are finishing up many projects, songs and stories about Passover. We have continued to discuss the symbols as well as to reinforce the importance and meaning of Passover.
As we watch the signs of spring emerge (forsythia, dandelions, crocus and green lawns), we look forward to playing outside more often. Our new fence, which will greatly expand our play area, is due when we return from vacation.
On Wednesday we made nut- free charoset in class. Many of the children helped to mash apples, sprinkle cinnamon, and pour in some grape juice. We enjoyed the charoset for snack along with some egg matzah ( and cream cheese). Some children who did not remember or think they would like charoset tried it after smelling it. Several of these children ended up taking several helpings!
Please remember to take home your child's centerpiece, pillow, Seder plate, and Haggadah after the Model Seder. Your children worked very hard and are very proud of these great projects, conceived by Gina and Lauren. The 3's also have an entire repertoire of songs as well as understanding an age appropriate version of the Passover story.
Have a wonderful Pesach
Nancy, Gina and Lauren
