This Week in the 3's April 4- April 8
We have had a musical week starting with Marcy on Monday. We practiced our Passover songs and also had the opportunity to march around following directions to stop and reverse, all while playing spring songs.
Jackie has come in our class each day to help us chant the Four Questions so we will be ready for our model Seder and with our families. Jackie also told an age appropriate version of the Passover story with her own special touch.
On Tuesday morning Jackie came in to make matzah with the children. They all helped and made their own piece which they then enjoyed for snack.
This week the children enjoyed many books including Rain Songs and Rhyming Dust Bunnies. We continue to read old Passover favorites as well as new stories including, The Mouse in the Matzah Factory.
Casey from the Greenburgh Nature Center brought us Spotty the Spotted Salamander, Taddy the Tadpole (so tiny) and an old friend to the 3's, Jeremiah the Bullfrog. Jeremiah has grown an incredible amount to the amazement of the students and teachers. Casey also brought Pompeii the fluffy and adorable rabbit. She taught us about what he eats with lots of help from the children.
As far as art projects we are very busy with several creations that the children will take home to use at their family Seders. We are also working on a collage project related to the first signs of spring. We have several examples of stems with buds - some are now in bloom. The children used the forsythia as the inspiration for this project.
Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend!
