Mommy was just looking at pictures of a set of twins born one month ago and there is a picture of them in the bouncy seat. Mommy has the exact photo of Clara and Emma at about that age and is amazed how quickly time has passed.
Clara loves to sweep and clean up. Of course, it should be noted, that she loves to make a mess- she love to rip paper, tear things, spill things and throw food on the floor.
Clara was evaluated this past month for speech therapy.
Emma is walking. Thanks to Heather Cloutman, PT extraordinaire, Emma has been walking around everywhere. She only crawls when she can't find something to pull to standing on.
The ladies are still two nap a day gals. Every now and then Mommy thinks about switching them, but then they go right down without a problem at 9:45 ish and again around 2:15 ish and still sleep at 6-6:15 ish until 7 am! How can Mommy and Daddy complain?
Clara and Emma both love art and creative projects. They both walk right into school and go straight to the easel, then move to the coloring area and then to the playdough. They enjoy drawing with their crayons at home on paper and think the world of the crayons in the tub.
Clara and Emma continue to be great eaters. They love waffles, oatmeal (even thought Emma gets hives from it sometimes), pancakes, french toast, egg and anything fruit, although pears, bananas, strawberries and blueberries are usually featured. Lunch is almost always cheese oriented- grilled or quesadilla with avocado or fruit. Snacks that they love include graham crackers, chocolate milk, yogurt shakes and fig newtons. Dinner is often pierogies, mac and cheese, chicken or meatloaf with veggies- carrots, broccoli, corn, peas. If it is green, Clara puts it on Emma's tray. Mommy also tried the Nuby straw cups with no handle and they can use those too now. Clara and Emma sometimes drink milk and sometimes don't, but Emma is doing much better with it than in previous months.
The ladies have become huge fans of Elmo and his friends on Sesame Street and Jack's Big Music Show. They also sometimes watch Yo Gabba Gabba. Mommy isn't sure if it is a good thing that Emma requests to watch "Jack" or "Elmo," but it helps get through the winter months.
Books are still big for the Gornstein girls. They love the books where they can do things or feel things. Favorites include "Help Elmo Get Dressed," "I Can Do It, Can You," "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," "B is for Bear," any Sandra Boynton book, "Discover Farm" and "F is for Farm."
Clara and Emma love their toys. They play with the doll strollers and love their babies- they have a few they walk around with daily and rock and burp. They love the "Emma" doll (it is actually the name of the doll) that they can dress and undress and the Corelle doll for the bath. Clara loves the abacus and the lawn mower. They both can't get enough of the Elmo ride on and love all of their shakers and other musical instruments. They both like playing with the pound a ball- but Mommy and Daddy took away the pounder because they were using it on each other. They are into dress up- and love to wear jewelry and carry their purses around. They also like to wear Mommy's head scarfs that she wears to the gym and their hats around the house. They also both like playing with their shoes, taking them off and trying to put them on- which is also what they do with the laundry.
