This is from their teacher about Saturday's class.
Here's a little dose of religious school cuteness on an icky, rainy day. Last Saturday we celebrated Tu Bishvat, the birthday of the tree's. We received some help from Grover by watching Grover Plants a Tree on Shalom Sesame. Grover taught us that Tu Bishvat is the birthday of the tree's, and to celebrate we plant tree's and eat food that comes from tree's. As a class we talked about all the different things that tree's provide us with such as air, paper, and food. We also talked about ways to celebrate tree's, like recycling to keep tree's around. In honor of the holiday, we made our own little tree's out of recyclable materials and added "branches" (wire) with different foods that are eaten for Tu Bishvat. Since Grover said that we should plant tree's, we made a class garden out of Lego's. Everyone worked so well together on this project and it turned out great. To top off the day, we had a special treat, clementines!
I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!
