Playing the Harmonica

Clara and Emma woke up early. Clara hopped out of bed and went looking for her instruments- the new harmonica and flute. Clara and Emma did a few rounds of "Marching Band" before camp.

The ladies took a nap without a problem, but Emma woke up screaming again. The big question is whether they need the nap. They are clearly exhausted post camp and do better with the nap. But, the afternoons can sometimes be painful with them throwing so many tantrums etc. But for today, there was a nap and Emma's crying fit didn't last too long.

This afternoon, Clara had to bring the harmonica on an errand to Bloomingdales (no comment on their behavior running around the store and touching all the manequins). and to the supermarket. She also had to bring it across the street when visiting neighbors quickly and sat on a rock playing it. Good news is that it is probably very good for her to use it and strengthen her facial muscles.

Clara and Emma called Grandma Kathy and Grandpa David to talk to them while opening their birthday gifts that arrived. The violin and trumpet were huge hits. Clara and Emma also walked around with the new binoculars checking out the world saying "I see..."  The Sound of Music was another gift and the ladies started to watch it. Emma commented on the opening scene, a view of Vienna, "wow, that is a beautiful place."

Tonight, Clara and Emma both got dressed in their pajamas all by themselves with no help!! Emma was procrastinating and wanted to go potty. For the past several days, she has done a great job of telling people when she needs to go- a huge improvement. Emma was sitting on the potty for quite some time and Mommy informed her it was time to get off. Emma said "No, Mommy. You need to have patience." Clara followed up with "Mommy, let Emma go. Don't count."
